Petpiggies Micro Pigs Visit Gaywood Primary School, Norfolk

Petpiggies micro pigs were responsible for lots of excitement and smiley faces at Gaywood Community Primary School in Norfolk today.

Children, parents and teachers all enjoyed an opportunity to interact with our piggies during a two hour 'Meet The Micro Pig' session.

We would like to thank everyone who attended Gaywood School today for making us feel so welcome including the inspirational and forward thinking Headteacher Mr Shanks who clearly knows how to motivate his pupils.

Special thanks go to Jo Bramham for her efforts in making today happen.

You can watch videos made by the school during Petpiggies visit at the links below.

PS We apologise for Shrimp who opened a bag of compost without being asked to do so!!!

Read what Mr Shanks, Headteacher at Gaywood Primary School had to say following Petpiggies visit below.

Dear Petpiggies,

I am just writing to thank you for arranging the visit of Shrimp to our school today. What an experience it has been for the whole school community and the buzz Shrimp and her friends created was a brilliant way to round off the week.

For some of our children they were seeing a pig for the very first time and they were so excited to be able to stroke her. This is an experience we would not have been able to give our children without your amazing animals and team, and for that we thank you sincerely. The learning that will come from this experience will be huge. Just listening to the conversations the parents were having with the children on their way home demonstrated what a worthwhile activity it was and one I would recommend to any school.

Please feel free to embed the videos on your own site if you wish. You can get the embed code by clicking the embed code on the video itself but if you have any problems let me know and I will email the code over for you.

Once again, thank you for providing our pupils, staff and parents with memories they will treasure for a long time and for being part of our children's learning.

Kind regards

Paul Shanks
