Wild Life Drawing is a drawing class with a difference. Instead of life models, the subjects are real animals. The drawing classes are open to all, from beginners to advanced. Their aim is to inspire a sense of appreciation and understanding for animals, welfare and conservation issues around the globe.
During the classes, the group is introduced to animals of a certain species and can study them closely. For the first session we welcomed a variety of owls and since then we’ve drawn snakes, bats, ferrets, donkeys and a selection of reptiles to name a few. The classes are led in a relaxed fashion, with help and advice on hand if needed. Pencils, paper and other drawing materials are provided, but attendees are encouraged to bring additional media and colour.
Wild Life Drawing works with the finest animal sanctuaries and organisations to put on these events and animals taking part are used to human contact in various environments.
The animals are always accompanied by experienced handlers & their welfare is our highest priority.
Money from tickets sales goes towards their continued hard work for the conservation and protection of the animals.
This project is the brainchild of Jennie Webber, a London-based visual artist, educator and animal lover. Wild Life Drawing was set up with the intention of inspiring people with the wonder of nature through creativity, in the hope that it will encourage more people to protect our planet and it's animals.
